The Dissenter Newsletter launches its new show, "The Dissenter Weekly."

Paid subscribers of The Dissenter will receive the show every Friday. It will be available exclusively to paid subscribers until Monday.

Occasionally, there may be snippets that do not make the final episode. Those clips will be shared with only paid subscribers.

In the show’s first edition (recorded on January 23), Kevin Gosztola outlines the format for “The Dissenter Weekly.” Each show will feature headlines. Then there will be a main story or topic covered in a 15-minute segment.

The headlines for this week included a United States court decision that the NSA's "backdoor searches" violate constitutional rights to privacy and a Portland independent journalist who was facing a trial for reporting on a pro-Palestine student protest.

Kevin then focuses on what Reporters Without Borders described as the "unprecedented scope of threats" posed by President Donald Trump's administration. He discusses what The Dissenter will be tracking closely and comments on establishment media organizations, which have already yielded to Trump.

Support independent journalism and receive the “Dissenter Weekly” every Friday.
