Cutbacks at NOAA? But aren't they the people who relentlessly sounded the alarm about global warming 50 years ago and prevented the unending environmental disasters that we see today?

No, wait...

Aren't they just a bunch of useless bureaucrats who murmurred in their corners like mice, while the planet died?

NOAA has not been particularly upfront on the global weather impacts year to year from Hunga Tonga.

And yes, when you have a deep hole in the nation's budget there will be hits in the workforce . I experienced a RIF early in my career path. Somebody has to make the cuts. I'm also though not hearing that the Pentagon is ponying up as well as cuts to the genocidal support of Israel (whose leadership sees us as a Golden Calf and who hate us and want to see us turn into a welfare state. Also the need to cut off it's Zionist lackey in Ukraine.

Mmm hmm. Anyways, I wrote about government secrecy. I don't think that agencies should respond to citizens or organizations that submit FOIA requests with "sorry, we found too many records. Try again."

Agree. That said the major involved, MITRE seems to have run from $300 million in 2002 to presently over $1.7 billion in contracts likely from multiple agencies but that explosion likely caused someone to flag the work.

They are the cybersecurity group offshoot. Another PPP.

IT'S not for profit but you know how that goes. One hospital chain that is not for profit runs a CEO at $22 million a year and has a private fund valued as I recall at over a billion.

IMO a lot of our exploding debt is due to this. But I guess even a not for profit CEO has to have a place(s) to vacation and then there are the private schools etc. etc. Lol.
